Fear vs. Progress: Which One Are You Feeding?

Started playing Pickleball 3 months ago. Thinking about that first month when we started seems far away but we were a hot mess. We couldn't hit the ball, we were constantly and I mean constantly chasing the ball. We felt defeated like we'd never get there & it was exhausting.  A lot of days it still is.

I mentioned before how we keep seeing this lovely man when we go early in the morning. We call him a coach as he is always motivating a group of players who play with him. He arrives after us and we've met and played with a girl that plays with him.  She's lovely and very kind always offering us compliments.

A few weeks back I asked him if he was a coach and he said no. I said: "How do people find you?" He said: "I come here everyday and anyone can join." Told my sister and we kept that in mind. We wanted to join last Wednesday but they had enough players.  Well this time the girl arrived first and we asked her join to join us (this was our 2nd time playing with her). She is so encouraging and good at the game. She's been playing a year while we feel so new to the sport.  Shortly after the coach comes and we greet him. He sees the girl playing with us and he joins in. I was a bit nervous because he's really good but wow was he was amazing with us.  He gave us so many pointers and we had some great rallies. I was intimidated to play with him but he put us at ease right away and Caron and I loved playing with both of them. We didn't want to leave.

Every week I was letting fear get in the way of playing with him and it was silly of me because I was holding myself back.  Playing was a breeze in the short time we played with him. Honestly I can't wait to play with him again next time if we get the chance.

Are you letting fear hold you back in some area of your life? Just think of what is waiting on the other side.

Beautifully undone,
